Hi there everyone! Life is good, positive things happening, and I'm quite happy! My biggest recent event is I am engaged! OK - maybe some of you may not have even known I've been dating someone, but here's the story in a nutshell.
Last September, I attended a singles' conference in Show Low. A good friend of mine introduced me to a friend of hers named Duane Waters, who had just moved to Taylor (16 miles from Show Low) from Mesa. He was a "newbie" to the mountain after retiring from Honeywell and this singles' conference was the first activity he'd attended since moving here. He lost his wife to cancer 2 1/2 years ago. We chatted quite a bit, then other activities brought us together some more. You know the rest of the story.........Thursday, Jan.8th, we went to a steakhouse for dinner and he proposed to me. (the ring was on a piece of cheesecake the waitress brought out) We have set a date to be sealed in the Snowflake Temple June 6th. I am really looking forward to this new season in my life with someone who I believe the Lord "hand-picked" for me! Also, Duane has a 13-year old daughter named Andrea. I have really appreciated the love and support shown by so many of my friends and associates and their excitement towards Duane and my good tidings.
School's still going well. The 4th graders I teach are very near and dear to my heart. By the way, I got news this week that I PASSED that hideous state teacher certification exam that I took 4 months ago. Again.......life is good! (I scanned a picture of Duane and I to post, but as usual, I can't remember how to do it! Maybe next time!
